Oh Linda, she’s a mean drunk, I hope that Maude can help her, she’s got to remember, she’s one of the Endtowners now, but like we’ve said before, you can’t take the Topsider out of her, even if she’s now a mutant she’ll still hate them, I feel bad for her!
I never had any problems in bars. I would just start a round of dirty jokes. I have been a dirty old lady for 55 years. Heard my first from my grandmother at the age of 11.Been collecting them ever since. 56 mgb on my computer.now if we can just help Linda going that way, she will be a much better drinker. More popular in public. Looks like someone bit her on the arm?Blessed Be
The problem is, it’s hard to put up with people that are obviously shooting their mouths off in ignorance. She has to grit her teeth and bear it, but that pressure is just going to build until she explodes again. It’s not a question of keeping her from the booze, but of having her avoid anyone voicing an opinion based on rumor, hate and fear. Meaning she’s going to do poorly at a self-acceptance seminar.
I’m getting the impression that Sam the bartender doesn’t want Maude to know what Linda said to spark the fight. Though Linda may have been able to keep her thoughts to herself most times, it appears that the alcohol’s effects had lowered her tolerance for edgy comments from the bar’s patrons. She made her comments and took some serious lumps for them.
Great way to keep the past on the down-low there… In other news, 3 Topsiders tried to sneak into Endtown by claiming that they were robots who ate metal and then proceeded to make “robot noises”.
I kind of expected this of Linda, but I’m a little disappointed that she was able to provoke the others so easily. I mean, they didn’t really have to prove anything to the drunken, shrunken puffball. They could have taken taken the high ground, and held her off while they called the rats.Oh, wait, maybe she is better off…
She did in a righteous sort of way.She just got her righteous ass kicked. In a righteous sort of way.Linda was programed that all Mutants are bad. She did not see this at first. Everyone was nice. By picking the fight she confirmed her Topsider beliefs. All mutants are bad and to be one is to suffer so death is the more acceptable option.Three months in Endtown rehabilitation school is not going to remove years of Topsider indoctrination and propaganda.
Linda now has two paths once she is medically cleared to play. One: to see the light and accept being a koala and live a happy happy joy joy life with all the fun and frolic of Endtown.Second: Go totally dark, withdrawn, seeking revenge and destruction of all of Endtown at all costs.I think she is going to take path number 2.After all this is the soap opera we know as Endtown.
Also “bear” in mind she’s essentially lost her daughter. She’ll never see her grow up. And, if by chance she does get to meet her again, the daughter will abhor her mutation. Linda’s in major grieving mode right now. I think it’s less hatred if mutants, more hatred of herself.
One good way for someone who wants to be beaten up to get their wish is to claim to be a Topsider, so if she drunkenly claims to be one, don’t necessarily believe her, Maw.
Humans are humans, regardless of the shape, and all ethical rules apply, meaning no matter the provocation, no little 3 foot woman should be beaten up by a crowd or even one person
Usually when a businessman advises someone to stay away from the product he’s selling, that’s considered bad for business. When a bartender advises for someone to keep away from the booze, that really says something about him.
I was thinking Linda has gone through Endtown and heard these comments about Topsiders from Mr. Parrothead—-which are so much like her own opinions about Endtowners—-which, despite everything so far, she hasn’t yet given up…
I just got “Black(ie) Magic” back from the framers today. It is a georgeous piece of art. This may not be in my immediate self interest, but I recommend anyone who sees a picture that strikes him or her on the Endtown Auction Block to try bidding on it. “The Dutchess” has only been bid to $90. PLEASE don’t let me steal it for so pitiful an amount.
She seems to have a serious problem with guilty feelings. If she had been hunting and eating the mutants and now finding them to be friendly she is probably ashamed.I hope she can get her child back and as something cute!
“Have you ever been bitten by a parrot? Those beaks HURT!!”Linda can hide under her barstool and smash his feet with her beermug when he gets close enough to strike.“Speaking of hurt, hope everyone is having a better Thanksgiving than I am. TSOJ, would you like to come over? It would greatly improve my guest list~!”I’d love to! Thanks for asking. It’s an 18 hour flight, so I may be getting in a bit late…

He’s pretty insightful for a guy who can’t come up with a better name for his bar than “Bar”.

yeah I think she was aiming to get beaten that night, although I think the Jack rabbit was probably fed up with what they were saying too

Again with “they” when Linda argued / picked a fight with just one guy…who could’ve been drunk, too…
