My son was about 6 when the Republicans impeached Clinton. They were so outraged over his immoral acts that they broadcast all the graphic details – which my son (and I’m sure many others) heard on the news, despite our censorship. So much for the GOP protecting family values…
It’s a movie? She doesn’t notice him in the living room watching for 2 hours TWICE before? I can see not knowing what your kid is up to when they’re outside, but when they’re INSIDE?
Since when did it become ‘porn’ that Michael was watching?A lot of the so-called ‘drama’ series have portions that I wouldn’t watch and I am a ‘senior citizen’ that is ‘old enough’ to watch whatever. It is not Michael’s fault if that is available nor is it John’s or Elly’s. It is the corrupt TV execs who will put anything on TV for the ‘all miighty dollar’. I will now get down off my ‘soap box’!!
That’s right-some shows that are on in what used to be family time are bad. And the Republicans teach about serial adultary and dumping your spouse if they get sick.
my son’s friend had this incredibly zealous mother who took on protecting her children from TV indecency by blocking every channel that could ruin their tender little souls. Included were Comedy Central and Disney channel (for all the scantily clad females with excessively come-hither looks drawn in most cartoons) – well into their late teens and beyond. The kids grew up to be the filthiest crudest mouths I’ve ever known.
Back in 1983, they would have received only two or three channels in Northern Manitoba. CBC English, CBC French and a CTV station, and if they were lucky a third independant station.
re Lynn’s Notes:Your comment was as funny as the strip was. And nobody has to have a ‘bees and birds’ conversation anymore. They already know more about sex than we’ll ever know — thanks to TV!I must add that in my early years, as an avid reader, I discovered a lot of information in books like ‘Forever Amber.’
I never watched them intentionally, but based on what I saw and heard in a lot of waiting rooms that dialog might just as well be from an afternoon soap opera as from an R-rated movie.

It’s time for John to have that chat with Michael.

And from the Democrats the children learned about adultery and extramarital affairs.

Elly needs to set up a blocker for those channels to keep the kids out.

Psychlady: This comic strip is a complete rerun, so in those days television did not have blockers.

One Republican congressman, one incident, one restroom…and you’re seeing homosexual Republicans inside every public restroom stall?

To the best of my knowledge, no one anywhere in the world is forced to own a TV set.
