âLiz came here to eat Jon. Not hear your cruddyvoice.â
This just goes to show how important commas are. Your comment reminds me of this book: " Eats, Shoots, and Leaves:The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation." The relevant joke on the back reads,âA panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. âWhy?â asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.âIâm a panda,â he says at the door. âLook it up.âThe waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.âPanda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.âThe moral of this story is that punctuation really does matter, even if it is only occasionally a matter of life and death. <0)
Liz is always so sensible and direct, also courteous. She did say thank-you. Re: Garfâs apparent absence, note the food hasnât arrived yet, so Garf will be checking out the kitchen, which would be a given for him in a restaurant strip â I seem to recall he was born in a restaurant kitchen so they will have that additional magnetism for him as well.
