Even hand-washing has it divisive points. I have to have the dishes stacked & sorted a certain way before washing them, I wash with HOT water (I wear gloves) and let them dry on the rack, which takes all of a few minutes. Putting them away, I put the just-cleaned ones at the bottom of the stack.
And such a statement on the divisiveness in the US these days. The answer seems to be more, “You’re wrong!” rather than “Let’s find a solution that works for both of us” (like Anona Mouse’s)..

Take turns. Her way one day, his the next. That way it’s an equal workload for both. (And the same number of items will be cleaned either way.)
