If the skirt were a few inches longer and she wore the jacket (and maybe the scoop neck a bit higher, but it’s hard to tell from the drawing), that would be a nice outfit. I don’t know why they are pushing the whole “skimpy = business wear” in Cathy recently unless this is from the Ally McBeal days.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a great day!
lightenup A few of the younger women at a couple of offices I worked in back about when this strip was originally published dressed in rather skimpy clothing. I guess that since no customers ever visited those offices management did not say anything. At one of the offices that did not make sense since the men were required to wear ties. Although thinking of at least one of the managers in that office I can understand why he did not object to the skimpy clothing. He was not what I would call professional. I can see why the “skimpy = business wear” issue would be a topic that was pushed.
Cathy needs to quit shopping for new business attire and stick with what she already owns and wears. Everything she tries on at the store these days makes her look like a 10-lb. sausage being stuffed into a 5-lb. casing. Not exactly an attractive look on her, that’s for sure! :-P

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
.
Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)
Leave the “sexy” stuff for dates…wear the jacket during the day if this is the outfit you want to be seen in. Besides, Cathy doesn’t need to “transition”…she can go home and go out with her husband.

She will need that jacket, both day and night. She could freeze to death in that outfit, either in the office or at a restaurant.

In response to the last panel …
And you would want to be seen in an office half-naked? Time for yet another trusty [eye-roll].
HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
