Saleswoman: This season's must-have look: the super-skinny boot with the super-skinny jean! Cathy: Aren't the boots too skinny to wear over jeans? Saleswoman: Hoo, boy! Yes! You'll never get those boots zipped up over jeans! Cathy: Aren't the jeans too skinny to wear over boots? Saleswoman: Ha, ha! Yes! You can't cram these teensy jeans over boots!! Even if the boots weren't too skinny to go over jeans... and the jeans weren't too skinny to go over boots... they're all too skinny to go over anyone's calves!! Impossible! Unworkable! Unthinkable! And yet... must have! Cathy: Me too! Saleswoman: All we're ever really shopping for is permission... The boot; the jean; the leg.

It’s the image of skinny boots and jeans they are selling – not the reality of them.

I wish boots were one inch wider in the calf. We don’t all have thin legs. (The wide-calf boots are TOO wide). They need to make a width in between for “athletic” legs. Luckily, now that I live in Florida, I’m not wearing boots. LOL

Just happy the only boots I ever wear are of the snow variety – which I just might have to wear soon. Our lovely summer weather we have had over the past 3 weeks turned to fall temperatures yesterday. Today it is riding about 2C (35F) and raining on and off – with a forecast for snow later tonight and tomorrow. Oh well, it is the middle of October and the warm weather at this time of year was very unusual for this part of the world.
