Somehow I think this is all in Cathy’s mind, or she is really talking about Irving’s mom. Cathy’s mom thinks she is perfect, other than not having any children (yet). Besides, no one ever looks in an oven to criticize it. Total eye roll

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! I’ve been busy with treasurer stuff, which has been causing me so much stress for most of this year. I really can’t wait to give up this job, and I have learned my lesson not to volunteer for a job like this again. I hope you all are doing well and have a great day!

I agree with lightenup. Cathy’s mom, no problem. Irving’s mom, problem. Really happy neither my mother nor my mother-in-law were judgmental like Irving’s mom. Both sides of the family were fine with the way we lived. My wife, on the other hand, is the type that cleans the house before a cleaning service arrives. No idea why. Eyeroll for sure.

The idea of a clean oven isn’t bad, but in reality? Cathy’s mom would probably be happy to see the stains since that would mean Cathy was actually using her oven …

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

Luckily I never had judgmental m-i-l’s and the latest one lived in England so she was only at my home a couple of times. I am the perfectionist tho, when company is coming and I do get a little OCD about cleaning. As a therapist tho, I can diagnose and change my behavior more effectively these days.

I dunno, the cleaning cycle always hit around the middle of October, when things would get completely scrubbed down right before the holidays. It kept the oven from becoming a science experiment… Some things cooked over and over become quite a good shellac otherwise
