As always, better the devil you know than the one you don’t.

Our hairdresser is a sweetie, plus she gives my hubby and I a bargain price for my color and cut, and my hubby’s haircut and beard trim. (He started growing it when we began to shelter at home, and with a minimum amount of care, it actually looks pretty good! Balances the fact that he’s nearly bald on top…

Most people say their hair looks best on the days they get it done, but I’m the opposite. I can’t tell if I like a cut until I’ve done it myself at home. I think I have difficult hair because it’s party between straight and curly, and it’s fine, so it ends up being frizzy and flat when they do it. I’ve tried straightening it, but no one in my family (nor I) likes it that way. So for it to curl and not be frizzy requires a lot of product and some patience, which isn’t ideal during a short hair appointment. I just need a cut that looks good wet, and I can style it myself at home.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

Cathy couldn’t be any more wrong if she tried regarding the impossi-bility of changing hairstylists after having had the same one for so long because I’ve had to do it myself (see my comment from yester-day if you haven’t already).

If you’re going to someone who does your hair in such a way that you have a really huge problem maintaining and making it look good for more than just that one, single day you got it done, then you’re most definitely going to the WRONG person so it’s time to “cut” them loose and find a new stylist to do your hair the right way instead! ;-)

My style is easy – #4 guide in the clippers. Remove any of the few hairs that still grow on the top of my head. Use a razor to clean up the sideburns and the back of my neck. Never more than 10-15 minutes in the chair. Glad I have never worried about what my hair looks like. However, if I did want a style that looked good (and I had enough hair to make it worth while) I would definitely try to find a stylist that I got along with and did a good job. If you don’t like the work they do, why go there? Does not make sense otherwise.

    Have a great Friday eve!

My hair actually looks like Cathy’s when brushed out. Long and straight, died mousy brown and unfortunately, thinning out. I wear it in a low ponytail, or caught up with a clip at the crown. I guess I still have my 70’s hair look, but not as long and worn down the back then. Girls with curly hair envied me my perfectly straight hair which was so “in” back in the late 60’ to 70’s era.
