I THOUGHT THAT WAS A ROUND TRIP! START OVER! START OVER! START OVER! Cathy: Once we dreamed of travelling to Europe. Looks like you are staying close to home this summer Cathy, didn’t you mention Vegas yesterday? Back in 2010 you probably could have got some good deals on or near the Strip, just keep Irving from going over the top on the slots, craps, roulette or blackjack tables. Perhaps a nice game of Keno.

All of the fees are a pain. There should be a posted price that includes all taxes and fees. If it is a bargain airline where you have an option to pay more or less, depending on what you want, I guess that should be separate, but adding the taxes and fees that everyone has to pay, like a departure tax, is misleading. Same for a hotel room. I just stayed at a hotel from Wednesday through Sunday, and my Saturday rate was 5 dollars more. I guess it was for the most popular night, but this was news to me.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!

They might as well spend that vacation money now, because if they don’t, it will end up spent on electronics and shoes.

Yes, those extra fees will get you. I like the rules in Canada – the airlines have to show the full price including all required taxes and fees. I like how our two main airlines also have more than one econo fare – you can select bare bones or include extras like first piece of luggage fee included or seat selection fee included. Less of a shock when you get to the end of the transaction.
Mother Nature is at it again. It is now officially summer – and we had a frost warning last night. Fortunately the temp did not get below 5C (41F) so the plants did not suffer. I did notice that the ash trees that were not budding after the last frost have recovered and are now green. Unfortunately the lilac has not recovered. Maybe next year.
Enjoy this fine first Tuesday of summer (or winter if you are south of the equator)

Indeed—pretty bad when the fees exceed the price of the ticket …

And it’s worse now and going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
I heard this morning that some airlines are actually setting a required number of cancellations per month I believe it was.
You also need to have all your paperwork and covid requirement stuff in hand for every single airline you might be on, country you might be landing in, and hotel you might be staying in.
