Oh boy. He did the romantic evening last year, as an equal, strong and independent woman it was your turn this year and you failed to reciprocate.

Why is it always about the woman on Valentine’s Day? What about the man?

It appears the valentine’s day “recently single girl” pool has deepened a bit too.

It’s simple….they have all been sleeping on the couch since Valentine’s Day.

Perhaps they were dating rather shallow women or ones who failed to convey their expectations for the day. I agree it should be a two way demonstration of love on Valentine’s Day. As I said earlier here, my wife bought herself a small house plant from me and we were both happy with that. However, she also picked up a couple of custard tarts with fruit and a small plastic red and white heart. I ate one on Wednesday – that is after Feb 14 of course. After eating it I discovered the heart was actually a large ring. I waited for a commercial break (she watches romance or mystery movies most evenings while I am in my office) then walked upstairs, went down on one knee, held her hand, and asked if she would marry me. There was a short pause . . . then she most emphatically said ‘Yes’. I put that plastic ring on her finger then we both had a good laugh. We reminisced that 46 years ago I did not do the knee and ring thing as I proposed after we had eaten a take out hamburger meal from the local burger place while sitting in the car in a roadside park in the rain. That short pause had me worried but it was reassuring that after 46 years she still said ‘Yes’.
Have a great Sunday.
