Hmm, the standard animal method for determining horn sharpness is a jousting contest. Does this mean Unicorns used to be violent barbarians?! (It would be interesting to see two Unicorns duelling…)

The unicorn tribe still exists? I thought Marigold was the one and only. Destiny23 is correct, most animals use some form of ritual combat to establish dominance. The unicorns have further ritualized the physical combat into a dance contest. The use of rollerskates must be Marigold’s unique innovation, though it might violate the rules somewhere.

Horses do freestyle dance as well, just google freestyle dressage or freestyle reining to behold the wonder.

@Dana. You do realize that you can’t mention something as wickedly cool as a unicorn dance contest (election) and not portray it?

I love plot lines that expand on the mythology of the series and canonize facts about unicorns and stuff. Marigold should pitch a fact based kids animated series about unicorns, or maybe write a book so little girls can play correctly.

The Crystal Empire… oops, I mean Glitter City… could use more dancing and less princessing for sure! But then, who doesn’t?

I guess I should delete this comic. So many people love it, but I don’t think it’s sweet or funny. I have tried and read all comments, but guess it is too high brow for me. Ok, bring on all the negative comments. Goodby.
