Women gossip; men share their thoughts. A gray-haired man looks distinguished; a gray-haired woman looks old. A man who loses his temper is under a lot of pressure; a woman who loses her temper is hysterical. And so on…

No problem. The MIBs will just neuralize them again like the last five times this happened.

Once gossip appeared as a crime in the criminal code, but not gossip per se, which is just sharing news about people in a community: malicious gossip was criminal, which was gossip intended to defame, injure, or discredit. In face-to-face societies, reputation was everything. It didn’t even matter if the the gossip was true — it was the intent to do harm that was seen as criminal.

Wouldn’t damage control just open a fake website from a crackpot claiming whatever she divulged as a conspiracy or invention of said crackpot? Then all google searches would lead to that site and the leak would be laughed at as ramblings of a lunatic.
