Similar joke I played on my (now 21-year-old) son when he was about Nelsonâs age and regarded himself as smart and cynical: only it was âGullible is not in the dictionary? Donât believe me? Look it up yourself.â He was so angry about being duped; but he wanted SO MUCH to try it out on all his friends and not one fell for itâtoo lazy to use a dictionary at ANY timeâŠ. Anyways, no one in the family has never let my son forget it and we often bring it up when he is being pretentiousâŠ. Someday maybe he can try it on his own kids or grandkids.
Thatâs like the one about smart pills. A guy offers another guy one for $100. He pays for it, takes it, and tells the guy, âI donât feel any differentâ. The other guy says, âSee, youâre smarter alreadyâ.
I got my nephew with this a few weeks ago, but with âorangesâ instead of âgreen beansâ. Then my sister-in-law played along when he tried it on her. She just said âorangesâ really slowlyâŠthe look on his face was priceless when he tried it again.
