Cathy: You bought a new iPhone?? Are you kidding?? Irving: I know... Google's "Nexus One" is NEWER than the new iPhone. and I want the NEWEST one!I want the NEWEST one!I want the NEWEST one!I want the NEWEST one!I want the NEWEST one! But I'm bound by my sacred vow with AT&T... ...so instead of running off with a new android, I recommitted with a 32GB, $499 iPhone upgrade! Cathy: I give up. Irving: It was a 200,000-ringtone ceremony!

Here is my opinion of every single human who feels it necessary to have the newest of anything just because it’s new, and this opinion applies to all humans despite age, gender, ability, or race:
What an idiot.

Cathy should take some hope in that he didn’t run off with a new android.
LOL, pearlandpeach! ejcapulet, one thing I will say for the early adopters is that they contribute more to the cost of R&D and they iron out the bugs. If they think they look cool, that’s fine.

Anybody want to try and guess how many months will pass before Irving will decide he needs to get a new phone because this one is outdated?

Ok so all of my stuff might be a dinosaur now but they still work at least. That doesn’t mean you can drool over the latest stuff but it does become obsolete in a matter of hours.

When someone buys a computer or electronic think of the cost and the uploading time all that is done it becomes old. We here also do not have the money to keep up and our computer needs updating. Where I work at pt I think my unit is the only one that is old no one cares I work with a dinosaur.

@lightenup, the best early adopters are actually rich (as opposed to running up credit card debt), and devote the necessary time as well as the money in their hobby. Good examples are Bill Gates mansion (brought down the price of LCDs by installaing LCD wallpaper) and high end luxury cars (brought down the price of GPS navigation and antilock brakes).

I put off buying a cell phone for years. I kept hoping somebody would make one with a rotary dial.

@pearl&peach, you made me choke. You made my day!

History shows us that any and every “new” Apple product has already been obsolete on the first sale day, and an upgraded product was always already in the works. It’s the main beef of the dupes who keep buying it.

Omigosh…Irving is my brother-in-law.
As much as I love my Mac, I’m fine with the thing being three years out of date. Take that, trendoids!
