I tried that once. I got about 4 pages and then I realised it wasn’t a memoir of what actually happened, just a bunch of musings. But at least I didn’t start a blog on the strength of it. The world isn’t panting to know my inmost thoughts, that’s for sure.
Being from the flyover area of our country, I’d always heard about ‘Boston scrod’ …One time I lit there and asked the cabbie where I could get scrod. He said ‘sailor, I’ve been asked about a lot of things in my life, but this is the first time I’ve been asked about it in the past pluperfect tense!"
