Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Iāve been getting invitations a sporadically since my mid 20s. I suffer with osteoarthritis/chronic pain and somehow they found out. I went on disability because of it in 2007 and theyāve bombarded me almost daily since. Iām 42 in May, which I wouldāve considered AARP old when i was a kid, but now that 40 is the new 20ā¦ā¦..
I was a member for awhile but realized that I really didnāt like their policies. So I just didnāt renew. This was 3 or 4 years ago and Iām still getting membership cds in the mail for my husband and me. They get shredded. Thanks to 440 RoadRunner, Iām going to check out AMAC.
I joined AARP. In 1990 I paid for a life membership for myself and my wife. Guess what? A few years later they ālost the recordsā and wonāt even admit thatb I exist today.
Granted their over-mailings can be annoying, but they canāt be beat on airline tickets, etc. I have been a member for 30 years, and pick and choose what I wish to get from them. I do not contribute to their ācauses,ā except for the low membership fee.
Been receiving their junk mail for years, and i shred it and return it to them in their own postage paid envelope. They stand to make billions on ābo carelessā aka obama care. Ha ha they have to pay the postage again and againā¦..itās good for the Post Office.
I didnāt start getting the āinvitesā until I turned 50. Never joined but they send me their magazine and newspaper every quarter. Talk about a poorly run, totally inefficient organization, geez! They also supported Obamacare, so that alone gave me reason not to join.
And if you want great discounts, and good deals, join AAA, THE AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION. Or your Stateās Farm Bureau. PA has a great Farm Bureau with all sorts of benefits, and you donāt have to be a farmer to join..
Dry: Watch out for those. Farm Bureau is the chief lobby for agribusiness and dedicated to the extinction of the family farm. AARP is an insurance company and has a vested interest in the preventing the system that makes the rest of the overdeveloped world healthier than us (remember, Obamacare still keeps insurance company control over our health, which is the only reason they support it). And the Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the extinction of free enterprise businesses and the ultimate control by a junta of multinational corporations. Even wolves avoid those sheepās clothing.
ahab: The Nazi Revolutionary Army never sends me anything (except a hit squad once ā the police got there first, in marked cars), despite the fact that I own a couple of guns. I guess flintlocks are not military enough these days.

My boss at work received an invite to join AARP. She was 28 at the time (I was [mumbled number] years older than she was and nearer to eligibility.)

I just ignored those things. They eventually stop sending them if you do.

Stuff the self-addressed physically full of everything you can fit in it. They have to pay the postage. Eventually they get the message.
