Think about it. Do you own your possesions or do they own you? How hard do you work just pay for your toys? Remember the perfect slaves are those who think themselves free.

I’d say Isaac Asimov is rolling in his grave, but he was cremated.

Don’t believe this. Just ask SIRI when will Skynet become operational. She will NOT give you an answer.

Fred Saberhagen’s Beserker Series seems more likely. I think the Terminator series was partly based on his concept. So, who control’s the unmanned weapon platforms? No worries, a report came out saying that humans may be able to create black holes right here on earth. We’re such creative creatures. Oh well. C.

At least the nanobots didn’t turn the world into grey ooze.

Not quite correct. Of course the Cybermen predate the Borg but the concept of the man / machine has been around for a lot longer.

Daleks are still meat. And they live in their own smokers. Very convenient.

Too bad he can’t tell us about the climate apocalypse—it might convince enough doubters to enable us to avert it. Not my problem because I’ll be dead within 20 years, but for my children and grandchildren and you younger folks, and especially you climate change deniers—so sorry!

People are already slaves to their machines. Take away someone’s smartphone, computer, or satellite TV and they’ll go insane from withdrawal. I doubt the machines will ever be truly intelligent, though. No matter how complex the logic tree is, it’s still unable to make intuitive leaps or think in a lateral manner. Unless we unlock the secret to that we’ll never see true AI.
