I remember the last Star Wars movie. Hayden Christensen was the first actor to play both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in the suit. He was fantastic. Ewan McGregor was absolutely brilliant in that movie, truly worthy of succeeding Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi (never more so than then), and Natalie Portmanâs performance was simply tear-jerking.
I absolutely loved Episodes 4,1,2,and 3, in that order historically speaking. Episodes 5 and 6, now called, just plain stunk. Terrible special effects and cheesy story lines. 4 was amazing for its time, took my breath away. 1,2,and3 were simply so beautiful that I could not even think about the story line the first time I saw them. I will watch them all many times. Who are the idiots that disparage these amazing movies? Some smarter-than-thou- geeks? Well the critics hated the first movie when it came out, but history tells a different story! As usual.
Yeah, Han Solo Shot First â Itâs called a âPre-emptive Strike!âIf he had waited for Greedo to shoot, Han would have been DEAD! Grow UP, George LucasâŠ
..since we are numbering them historically,6 was a great movie. If it had been labeled anything but Star Wars it would have been called a complete masterpiece. 4 was goodâŠitâs biggest sin was that it wasnât totally great.5,however ,was a dud.I actually fell asleep watching itâŠa complete horror to me.
In fact,I find 6 better than 3.Talk about Jar Jar BinksâŠhe was less of an irritant than those damned muppet style guards or Disney like Ewoks.
In fact,my only complaint was the C 3PO factor.Sure,C 3PO could have been programmed to not remember..but Darth not remembering him?A boy does not forget his toys..ask Hasbro.
I have to say I actually enjoyed all three of the newer movies. I just didnât love any of them and I thought the last movie had a few weak points. âHigher groundâ being one of them.
While all this arguing is certainly entertaining, itâs moot. Itâs a comic. A funny one, but a comic. âŠWhen Episode 4 came out, the special effects were spectacular at the time. Lots of improvements have been made in that respect, but for itâs time, it was great.âŠThe shower scene in Psycho, with the blood going down the drain, was actually done with chocolate syrup to make it show up better. Special effects in itâs infancy.
I was in North Jersey, where tornadoes are rare (but do happen.) Iâve never seen a real one, and donât want to- but I still have the occasional dream where Iâm thinking âOh man, this time itâs for real.â Then it isnât.
@Thomas Scott Roberts, Yep, I should have said in the âearlier daysâ, not âinfancyâ. I agree that the tornado in Wizard of Oz was really quite scary. The music creeps me out, as does the part with the woman (pre-witch stage) riding the bicycle in the tornado. Wonderful movie, though.

With the same guy doing both Wars and Trek, will they start to become more like each other. I always appreciated all the differences.
