I guess as long as the Plentys have this radio job, MM clone will be clear to contact her “family” (Jr & Honeymoon)

“Oh, no Pa. That’n makes me cry!”

    “What key?”

Sweet Betty: I agree. I believe this is the soft landing needed if Mysta is to move back into the strip. But Robert Mills may be on to something, as well… (His comment, perhaps tongue in cheek, was that Mysta will crash the radio show. But, at this point, I suppose anything can happen!)

Planning a Dick Tracy screen play with a country western music theme. Gertie to be played by Reba McIntyre and B.O. by Willie Nelson. Haven’t figured who’ll be Sparkle. When it is done I’m sending it to Warren Beatty.

The radio show format is a call-out to The Martha White Show and radio stations like WPAQ of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, amongst others

Oh, good lord, her name is still “Sparkle Plenty Junior Tracy” after all, isn’t it? I was really hoping “Jewel” was Mike saying “‘Sparkle Plenty Junior?’ Ridiculous.”

ESPECIALLY since she technically ISNT a Plenty… she’s a TRACY first and foremost (well, she is whatever the heck steve the tramp’s last name was, lol… wasnt he juniors biological father? RAY!!! HELP!!!! lol)________________________________________

Steve the tramp cared for Junior sort of like a step-father but was not his biological father. Steve had Junior commit robberies and thefts for him. Steve was often very abusive of Junior, whose original name was Jackie.

Junior’s biological parents turned out to be Hank and Mary Steele, who were divorced. When Tracy discovered Hank, Junior was placed in his custody. Later, Hank, who was blind, was shot and killed by Stooge Villar. After the death of his father, Tracy took custody of Jackie (who changed his name to Dick Tracy Junior).

Later, Junior’s mother Mary arrived in the city and learned of Junior’s situation. She decided not to reveal herself to him but often left him anonymous presents. When eventually conftonted by Tracy, Mary felt that Junior was better off in Tracy’s custody and made Tracy promise not to reveal that she was Junior’s mother. Junior eventually figured things out and although he remained with Tracy, he and Mary became friends and developed a close relationship.

Steve the Tramp went to prison but reformed and was later paroled. He and Junior eventually became friends again.

I agree these scenes are probably setting up future events. I like the idea of Sparkle moving on to pursue a music career and eventually marrying someone else. Maybe Vera? They were crazy in love at one point. I wouldn’t root for this in real life but this is fiction and everyone loves a good potboiler. I like the idea of Junior and Moon Maid being married again, too. That’s my two cents.

amazing how many readers are rooting for a solid marriage to be destroyed, i dont get it.

is it safe to say that, at this time in tracy-continuity.. that sparkle and junior have been married for a longer period of time than junior and moon maid were?

i mean, if honeymoon was four when moon maid got made part of the pavement, and jewel is six now… then yeh, junior and sparkle have been together longer…..yet theres tons of posts where readers want juniors marriage to sparkle to either be….

    a) null and void

    b) ended in divorce

    c) ended in tragedy (ex: sparkle getting killed, etc)

    d) have sparkle “run away from her marriage” altogether so moon maid can swoop in and “reclaim her husband”

sorry folks, but junior hasnt been moon maid’s husband in YEARS whether you like it or not

like I had said before, I am sure that both Junior and Sparkle were smart enough to wait until Moon Maid was at LEAST declared legally dead before they got married in the first place (and yes ray…before you point it out to me, i had said the other day it would be cool if moon maid and vera got together while junior and sparkle stayed married.. it was a JOKE)

Maybe Gertie should sing the song, “The Fireman” by George Strait because of the hot number she did to Measles a few months ago!!

Anyway, I’ve enjoyed past country music songs along with the contemporary songs. If Gertie sang “Wagon Wheel” (A song partially written by Bob Dylan and the lyrics finished by the “Old Crow Medicine Show”), a current hit by Darius Rucker, Gertie always somehow sings the lyrics wrong! To me, that’s fun to read!

What a difference a day makes, the last two strips in the Washington Times were of much less color quality from Monday and reading the newspaper strip was far inferior to reading it online.

Break it up, guys. It’s all pretend. No one thinks anyone is a bad person because they root for one thing or another to happen in the story.

Being the Marvel Zombie I am, the posts today stirred memories of the Peter Parker clone (the original storyline in the 70s, not that convoluted thing that came out in the 90s). Peter Parker was confronted with the clone of Gwen Stacy, even after his life moved on after her death. In the end, they went their separate ways. Sometimes you can’t go home again.

I would hate to think that Junior would give up everything he had with Sparkle. I always thought Junior SHOULD be with Sparkle, and the whole Mood Maid marriage was a plot device to make the whole 60s moon era more important. I have no idea how this all will play out, but whatever Team Tracy comes up with, I’m along for the ride.

I’m enjoying this storyline to no end. Lots of returning characters from all eras of the Dick Tracy mythos, and Team Tracy keeps us guessing at every turn. This is turning out to be their magnum opus. All I’m thinking of, is, how are they ever gonna top this?

OK, this is what might happen. The Moon Maid’s face will be horribly disfigured like your run of the mill Tracy bad person. She is forced to work in a freak show as "Giraffe Girl. Her carnival will be working a state fair where the Sounds of Plenty are starring. Mysta tries to start a fight, but team Tracywill show up en-mass and stop the trouble. In the end Tracy sets Mysta up with a maid service; “Out of this worldcleanup”or something like it. All the maids will wear HEPA masks that look like the thing Moon Maid has on. Their logo will be The MM blasting away at a dirty house with a full charge of Horn Power. She will grow rich. OK? Well fine.Just because I do not post, it doesn’t mean I don’t watch and have been for a long time. I respect the regulars of course, but I fear that the writers have painted themselves into a corner and perhaps could use the device known to us as a("Plot Quirk) Kindest Regards- T. Texino
