@johnzakour, @Thomas Scott RobertsWhat’s the game? Why the phony reprint with the Northanger Abbey element?

Just an odd diversion from the normal. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

Besides, didn’t the Woolworth building have elevators? I seem to remember elevators, the one time I was in it.

Rita has not aged well at all. Jay did make it all the way up to the 57th floor. That’s got to count for something, Rita.

He must not have the executive elevator key for easy access to the top few floors.

This was quite a surprise this morning. Very cool.

It’s work. Some jobs are great. A lot of other jobs can make you feel like you are running through a mouse maze.

1914? Wow, I hadn’t realized that the strip was that old!

Yeah we need to give Scott a day or two off now and then (especially now that we are doing Sundays).

Who is “Hat” Hogar, and why does this style remind me of “Out Boarding House”?

That was supposed to be “Our Boarding House”.

Harold “Hat” Hogar was the creator of numerous strips, including: “Heeza Nitwit,” “The Stupid Boob,” “Laughing Dogs,” "Oh Those Squeaky Shoes! " and “Aunt Battleaxe Has Come To Stay.” He was commissioned to create a new strip about office life in the growing business community. He later left to draw “Our Team Is De Best, See?” and Working Daze was taken over by a succession of others over the decades.

Bullpoop. A convincing line of bullpoop, but still bullpoop. Googled “Hat” Hogar, got nothing. Also, Modern Daze (original title of Working Daze) was created in 1990’s. Still funny though. Nice work, guys.

According to Wikipedia, the strip started in the 1990s.

This is pre-1920’s, so before that water bottle craze. And the 57 is only a reference to the Woolworth building; this is a different building. And it’s a walkup. After all, even then, this was MMM (although the initials didn’t yet mean Micro Macro Media)

Is that Rita’s great grandmother? If so, then maybe Rita has some sort of memento in her present office. If so, let’s just hope that one of the men in the office doesn’t break it.

Fun! It is always enjoyable to try a little twist on things; in those daze plastic did not exist yet and a water bottle is total anachronism. She would have a small pot of tea at her desk (in a cosy) and just might take a cup with her to the hall.

57? I doubt 3M would have been in the penthouse in those days. Should have been 10 or 21 – we are talking about Jay Johnstone, right?
