Janis: Wait!
Janis: Don't forget to use the little collar thingy...
Janis: So it doesn't drip on anything!
Arlo: How have you managed to stay married to me all these years?
It’s like a little drip pan that goes around the bottle’s neck, so when you pour, anything that runs back along the bottle is caught so you avoid stains on linens or bare table surfaces when you put the bottle back down.
That what wives do. You can look at it as micromanaging. I prefer to look at it as looking after the details. When you’ve been married as long as I have you just roll with it.
They are useless. They look good at formal dinner parties, but that’s about all their good for. We had some pretty engraved pewter ones, but never used them. I think they’re on a decorative bottle in the hutch. Who cares if the bottle drips a few times? Not me.

If you pour properly, with a slight bottle twist at the end, there’s never a drop.

I have a couple that I slip over the spout on the tea pot. It’s a sort of scrunchy. But then, teapots drip more than wine bottles.

A good marriage is a symbiotic relationship. Each has strengths to balance the shortcomings of the other.

GSJ Olé: I have used that technique on a whole range of liquids from milk to cooking oil, to soy sauce. I never heard of the rings, but then I am not a boozer.
