phritzg said,(from yesterday) and Dave53;“I’ve had the TracFone LG 840G for a couple months now and have so far had no problems like this.”That’s mine, too. Google that model and you’ll find an 85-page .pdf manual that’s a better help than the little booklet that came with it,

I feel just like Arlo does when I’m handed a phone to talk on . . .

I don’t hang up on people but I accidentally mute the phone a lot and I pocket-dialed until I locked my screen.

When I was a kid, we had phones with crystal-clear reception, that lasted half a century. Now we have phones that drop calls, are filled with line static, costs hundreds of dollars, and that have a shelf-life of maybe 6 months. What happened?

@Ushindi said;@UncaJim; " (you can probably tell I’m now a long way from being a teenager). " %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%A good thing, too… you realize what we could do at that age, knowing what we do NOW?? “Fathers, hide your dotters !!”But I mainly use my 840 to ‘busy myself’ at the VFW when I find myself with too curious over-the shoulder sorts.

The best cell phone I ever had was the Motorola MicroTAC 650. That phone could make a call in side a metal building or a brick building. I had a quick change battery (I had 5 extra batteries). I even a battery pack that used 6 AA throw-a-way batteries. It did not have texting. I would still be using that phone but they killed all analog phones.
