Thatâs the right Guy to ask; Andy knows that Canal like the Back of His Hand; the drinking One. . . .course that advise is coming from Somebody whoâs aal wet.
I think No. 6 wants to be reincarnated as Patrick McGoohan when he dies.
Will Patrick get a do over as Number Six ?..Chalkee = battery powered bike seat sniffer, I might be more in the market for a nukey powered âlechy motor. Dem battârees punk out and leave you petal pushing dead weight⊠and the motor/batt assembluy too. .Welcome back, Mikey !Hope your time out was good.
The empty and âdrunk bubblesâ are a nice touch. Andy should do that on the pedestrian walking mall in mid afternoon. He would feel no more shame than any other place he âlies aroundâ in. .Nice #2 tribute yesterday, guys..afficio was is a cute liâl bugger. Good funny too ! That girl needs to come to my house ! .Mikey, I just get the homepage for that screensaver doodad. Chalkie has it right where his pic link goes to a larger very readable version of whatever is posted on this page⊠not that his classic pieces canât be read to begin with. The text in your âtoon is âbusted upâ looking. I seem to remember your Tracy versions going to a bigger shot...Chawkeez cheezy, I never get tired of the classics and the header and tail pieces only make them better.
A funny episode for a change today! I went to see âSpamalotâ last night at our famous outdoor theatre. Maybe thatâs why, but todayâs episode strikes me as a bit Monty Pythonish.
Maybe our complaints about the writing forced Garnett to actually do his job; the strips have been funny lately, and todayâs strip could easily have been written by Smythe himself!

Ron has not called; heâs funny that way. Says I will call you right back or at some later timeâŠâŠâŠ then nothing. I will hear something eventually. My guess is the apartment check turned up âsnake eyesâ. He hasnât called âAuntâ either. I would think success would warrant immediate notification. I would refer him Number Sixâs place but that would be a long commute to his lady friendâs house in âWinnyâ (Western New York).
I believe Wesley, âThe Chiefâ, passed back in the 80s. I was in my current location by then. He was a friend of Dad and his older brother, John, from back in the 1930s, as boys in that long ago city of Buffalo neighborhood. He taught those palefaces the ancient Indian game of lacrosse. Referred to his people as âIndiansâ too ! He had made some trips to Wounded Knee back in the â70s when they were having their own âtroublesâ. âBuffâ was a heavy drinker. I once asked him during a bout how many he had had and his reply; âA pro doesnât countâ. He didnât play futbol though.I have enjoyed hearing rainâŠ.. when I was inside and it was outside. I like not so much moisture since moving west.
My âleakageâ from the fall was red. Scraped my shins on the weed whacker I had left on the floor after having recharged it. It is a 12 volt Ryobi I found in the trash a few years back. Works great !
Our school took us to the âFallsâ in â69 when they had shutoff the U.S. side to study the effects of erosion and to see if and what they might do to slow it down. The Niagara River connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario, passing the cities of Buffalo and the Tonawandas on its way. In a big bunch of years the falls would wear all the way back to Erie and so, no more âFallsâ.
Time to go out and rug shampoo the car seats.A happy tippling Tuesday to you !
I enjoyed reading about âThe Chiefâ He sounds awesome to me. Sorry to hear he passed away. I actually like that quote: âA pro doesnât countâ Iâm sure that applies to Andy Capp too. Donât you think?
I know a lot of people who say âIâll call you backâ or âIâll email/text you soonâ and they never do. I think Iâm a guilty one there as I promised my cousin I would text him to remind him or update him about something and I completely forgot. HE didnât forget though⊠He asked me why I hadnât texted him but he said it in a humourous way.
I liked the tributes to Leo McKern yesterday too⊠Heâs my favourite âNumber Twoâ in the series also. Iâve watched The Prisoner a full 5 times and enjoyed it immensely.
That info on the Niagara River was quite interesting. Itâs a beautiful place but I only know that from looking at photos of it on the Internet. Being there in real life would be a lot better.I hope you donât trip over your âweed whackerâ again⊠Or anything else for that matter as itâs always a shock when you fall. I should know but 95% of my falls were because of my carelessness.
I have another doctor appointment to get my BP checked after being on the medication for a while. Appointment is on 19th June where Iâll be somewhere in the middle of the 7 day break. Iâm sure everything will be fine.
On a wet day here and there, Gweedo is still dry enough to say this:A yucky wet Wednesday morning

Hartlepoole/Newcastleâs Animals on Hollywoodâs Hulabaloo; intro by Jack Kerouc.
Iâve reached a point where I donât watch those sixties live on tv things if I suspect that they are miming it; something that was done a lot back in them days. Another tipoff is when what they are doing sounds exactly like the record. In an interview of one of the Floyd guys, Roger W. I think; he stated how Syd would purposely go out of time with that sort of thing. The rehearsal would be spot on however. Itâs possible that he just stood completely still though for the live take. ..Thanks, Mikey !I like the plate type header piece, I believe that would be the disposable panel in a Sunday where they cram the strips more to a page in what amounts to microfiche size, the reason I quit buying the Sunday hereâŠâŠ.. that and they werenât carrying Capp anyway. Love the house with the eyelash windows and happy door. Good thing those girls got hard heads. That roof would put me outa bizniss and how. Love their costumes too !..Number Six said, about 3 casting spells ago
@Gweedo Murray.
If I did come back as McGoohan, I wouldnât turn down the role of Bond.
Not even for eating crackers in bed ?! I wouldnât have a problem with the showing off part of acting, just donât know if I could keep all the lines straight. The Black Adder guy must have a great memory to hold all that together for such long winded runs on the recitations.
Iâm a frequent critic of R.M. Gumby, his lackadaisical âcut/pasteâ approach, and in particular his lack-of-interest in making Andy expressive â Ren Höekâs âMosquitoâ Face seems to be his fav. Just check-out what the MASTER was interested in having Andy feel . . .aal in B&W!!!
BTW, towards the end of the movie âThe Matrixâ, a subliminal shot of Guy Doleman (as Number Two) can be seen on a tv in an old ladyâs apartment during a chase scene. It was the writers tipping their hat to McGoohan as âThe Prisonerâ inspired their Matrix trilogy.
Yes, Poli Sci is explicity discouraged! got PLENTY of Eds for that . . . . .letâs focus on common interests; Reginald Smytheâs profound talent is the obvious âglueâ which binds us, but other things like Family we aal share. donât hesitate to âchip-inâ.
Oh, Leo for sure! If just for that Laugh! Seemed more engaging with Six [possibly due to the scripts]; brilliant acting too. . . . and who was YER Favourite #2, Starlet?
Steves Gotta Stick Together Dept.Patrick McGoohan was a brilliant, gifted Actor, a family Man with strong morals, and by every account iâve heard, conducted His business ethically. That He was exceptionally handsome is just a plus; thereâs no sigma in recognizing that too, is there? I wish everyone could share their passions âon Their Sleeve;â World would be a lot better Place. My current passions are Regâs Art, Gardening, the Music of The Kinks, and self-improvement . . . what are YERS?Lâchaim!
Congratulation gentlemen! I have been a fan of Andy Capp since the 70âs, and this is the funniest cartoon I have ever read, bar none. Sadly, in my circle, Iâm the only one who getâs it.
