I stopped Facebook after 6 months when I started getting āinterestingā proposals from Russian Women who were apparently getting my Personal Info from the site.
Odds are they werenāt even Women, but that kind of aggravation I DONāT need!
(Not to mention, asking for money for the plane Ticket.)
The second day we were on Facebook, a family tree hanger offered us a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase training to become a certified professional colon health trainer. I havenāt been back.
I donāt like Facebook at all, yet I have an account, which I rarely visit. Iām an admin on a hound rescue page, which I DO visit regularly to post dogs in need, and thereās no denying that weāve saved a lot of dogs. I canāt argue with success.
If I werenāt on Facebook, however would I lean about all the one weird tricks thatāll help me lose my teeth, whiten my belly, and learn to play the guitar in another language, in ten minutes, while saving money on insurance?
So true. I have a Facebook account, I donāt always visit the site every day (or even every week) and all my Facebook friends are family or other people that I actually know in real life (i.e. real friends).
Tricks to using Facebook without letting it use you1) block all apps2) set all privacy settings to āfriends onlyā3) friend only actual, real life, friends who you want to stay in touch with4) cap friend count at 100, no matter what5) block friends from news feed if they share multiple items per day6) check news feed no more often than once a day, except in special circumstances
I liked the tips from Janina. I try to visit there once a day to see what friends are doing and limited my actual friends to immediate family and local people who share my hobbies (with a few news celebs and very talented folks in my hobbies who share tips).
Rita looks like she hasnāt been home. ā¦. should someone tell her she can get both Facebook and YouTube on her smartphone?ā¦ā¦ or would that be ā¦. too cruel?

That, my friend, is the secret of life ā not just Facebook. Purposeful participation, and nothing to excess.

I have a facebook to keep up with family and used to spend hours on it playing games. Now I only check in for a couple of minutes and go about my day.

I call it Crackbook, since most people who are involved with it seem to be addicted.

A couple games I played depended on an ever increasing army to advance. I dropped them all and now only log in every couple weeks to delete requests.

I have wonderful friends on Facebook world wide. You only get out of it what you put into it
