Who still has one of the old school phone receivers featured in today’s throw away panel?

I bet in Samuel Finley Breese Morse’s day, “Hey! Answer the telegraph!” (“What? I can’t hear you, the telegraph is buzzing.”)

I have this “old phone”… although may I mention that it would be far older-looking if it had that round thing for choosing numbers instead of the type that one can walk around with just like with a cell phone?

Somewhere, in a box I have an old Trimline.

I went cordless, then I went wireless.

    That’s why I like voicemail…if it’s important enough, then you’ll leave a message.

we have a slimline type land line but cordless home phones for the other rooms. Plus we have cell phones but the battery goes down on those and the slimline phone will work even if the power is off.

We have a phone very similar to the one in the comic. We also have a plug in phone in hubby’s workshop. I have a cell phone, but keep “forgetting” to take it with me. Loathe the thing. Can’t I go anywhere and have a little peace?

Still have a push button phone, with a cord, on the kitchen wall. Rotary is not something I miss.

I have one for emergencies. My parents still have a rotary dial phone. Man — It takes FOREVER to dial a number on that thing!

My landline got more expensive than the cell, so I dumped the landline.

@jeanI too have a slimline and cordless land phones plus the cells. Here in Colorado we just had two extreme emergencies and the safety alerts we received on the land lines (slimline only one which worked) saved our lives. Turns out 99% land lines received the emergency calls faster and I’m not sure of the percentage but wireless was really not reliable. I’ll never get rid of my land line.

We still have an old landline phone hooked up and working. During a power failure, all our cordless phones are useless. And we just had a 24 hour power outage caused by an electric company blown transformer…
