In this strip it is the sometimes convoluted journey that matters, so do not worry because that experience can not so easily be taken from you.

Everyone differs of course, but I think many of us, on looking at some aspects of our pasts, are appalled but at least can be grateful for our hard-won growth. As in life, so in strips that echo it, I guess…

Phil, Phil, Phil…even all bachelor men turn some ounce of domestic when they take care of their own home; taking out the garbage, doing their own dishes, washing their own clothes. Either you do it yourself, or you hire someone to come in and do it.

Otherwise you’d be the crazy old smelly and disgusting hoarder at the end of the block.

I think there comes a point in every relationship when you move in together and this happens (for the man and for the woman too). This strip just put a little bit of cheesy humor into that.

I agree! I don’t know why people feel the need to talk about what happens in later strips. Most people in relationships have that moment (or more) when they freak out over something, yet they still get married and move forward in their relationship. Why is this such a shock?

Haha! I find a great deal of humor in this. Phil is always one of my favorite characters, and his behavior is simply a bit of over-dramatization of the emotions he is feeling having chosen to give up his tobacco. I can understand it. It is even more funny if you lived through the 1980s when this strip first aired…. you have a better understanding of the cultural nuances of that time.

If all the women you date turn into nags, perhaps you might consider what you are doing that drives them to it?Most men I know who complain about nagging tend to want a mommy, not a wife.

Now if he could only teach his brother in law some lessons. Women love a man who can cook, wash dishes, vacuum and dust!

When I saw the comic, I thought of “Faster than a speeding bullet [etc.].” Might have tried to write a parody, but you did it so well!BTW, “dust mouse” scans much better than “dust bunny” in this instance.
