Maybe if golf had a goalie at each hole? Then it would be as boring as soccer,

Or they could make it a contact sport.

I think this is the cheer for avid skiers watching Punxsatawny Phil each spring.

How about this reality show: “Golf Pro Wives of Palm Beach?”

And yet I hear that phrase after the tee shot on a par-4, 470 yd hole. Guess they just want their voices broadcast.

Golf doesn’t need cheers any more than chess, and tennis doesn’t need grunting.

I’m glad that Arlo and Janis are not sitting in the dark.

…oooh, one of my pet peeves…do those idiots who yell ‘GET IN THE HOLE’ actually think that yelling that phrase is actually going to make the golf ball get in the hole? I find it incredibly annoying. Anybody who yells that out at a tournament should be taken aside and beaten with a pitching wedge…

I was going to say perhaps he’s watching a war movie, but other genres would work too.

Frankly, I’m disappointed to think that Arlo would be one of those “Get in the hole!” people…

and where was she in the 1st 2 panels, hmmm?

Golf doesn’t really need cheers. It’s a gentleman’s or gentlewoman’s game. Applause should be sufficient for spectators to express themselves same as with tennis. The PGA should outlaw “Get in the hole!” and people who shout it should be issued a warning and, if they persist, ejected. That is the main thing that spoils my enjoyment of watching.
