Have you noticed the people who say “material possessions don’t matter” won’t actually give you theirs?

My brother was an only child.

Selfish old man! There are days I wonder why I read this strip!

This is true: There was just one only child in our neighborhood and all the other kids were so jealous of him. It was me. I hated being envied, and overcompensated by lending all my toys and stuff to everybody. It irritated my parents no end.. My father got me a nice Schwinn bicycle for my Eighth birthday; he was so proud to give it. I hated it because it was better than anybody else’s, so I put it away and bought a junk bike from my cousin. I customized it with high handle bars and a banana seat. I rode it all over and could leave it anywhere because it wasn’t anything special. .I had that Schwinn for 50 years and didn’t ride it. I gave it to my son a few years ago, and told him to do whatever he wanted with it. Weird, huh?

I didn’t believe in sharing either, Earl. Besides, my sister didn’t have anything I wanted.

LOAN?? – Isn’t the correct word LEND? – I thought LOAN was a noun, and LEND was a verb.

I’m surprised no one mentioned Opal tasting what was in the pot and then putting the spoon back in it to stir it.
