The painter with the happy trees, happy clouds and happy brushes was William “Bill” Alexander. While in the Wehrmacht during WW2, he was captured by the allies and painted portraits for the officers wives while a prisoner.
That sure was a lot of work for a punch line.
No wonder he uses a lot of yellow and green! Ewww!
