Linguist said, less than a minute ago" Mission lister, Iâm not as think as you drunk I am. Iâve only had tee martunies and a scottle of botch, Levertheness, Iâve got all day sober to Monday up on !
âHavenât started salsa yet even though I have shopped the ingredients; must use before they go bad. "wellobviously i didn edit that and i donât think thatâs how a Gentleman refers to his potential Dancing Partners.
@pcolliI have never heard a âCockneyâ use so-called rhyming slang. I think itâs just for tourists and Hollywood.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Maybe youâre too young. Back in the late â60âs I was working on a film in England, that had a couple of old Cockneys working as extras. They were real Cockneys, not just East-Enders, Theyâd been born and raised â under the Bow bells â ( St. Mary-le-Bow church ). They were bemoaning the fact that the ârhyming slangâ ( they never used that term ) was dying out with their generation â these guys were well up in years back then.From what they told me, it was originally started as a code to fool the Bill ( cops) and police informers and a lot of it might have started as a rhyme but with time and usage got shortened, For example, feeling queer would have been âginger beerâ, which then by usage got shortened to âgingerâ. So âes a bit ginger, isâne ?
Todayâs was funny, but also fun to look at (for a change). There was a sense of movement and a sense of character to the art today thatâs usually completely lacking. Iâd say the best strip all month, maybe.@Number ThreeDonât look now but Iâm posting right after you!@MikeyjI got a laugh out of your Andy drinking not driving cartoon yesterday.
Oh, 2old2readcomics, they are on Sherpa Comics. Why they arenât in the regular lineup, I donât know OR understand. They are wonderful! And sure beat the heck out of some of the stuff in the regular lineup!
With regard to the Andy strip, this Jackie seems too animated compared to how he used to be. I think that the old Jack would have just leaned against the bar and addressed the readers with some world weary comment about Andyâs shortcomings.

Stuff like âwe havenât got a Catâ is hilarious to a Drunk because Itâs so indisputable. But there was-too a Cat:

@Gweedo Murray
Thatâs nice of you to say. It was mighty lonely without you also. In fact itâs mighty lonely if ANY one of the regulars is missing.
Enjoy your salsa making.
Happy Thursday to you.

That WAS the prof on Ten Cats. Anybody who feels like flag waving can do so. Please. To do this to a sweet comic like Ten Cats is sick.
