Either direction is acceptable. Should your flag case be on a shelf, the long end is obviously on the bottom. However, hung on the wall, as it has in our home for many years, this is also the way. It is the folding of the flag inside that is always the same.
@Acacianpaladin The flag is not upside down. If you have ever lost a family member to war, you would know was the flag on the coffin. I still have my fathers and in the case like this!

Since the vast majority of automobile accidents are caused by someone who is high on something – usually alcohol – the most effective campaign to reduce the number of automobile casualties is being waged by Mothers Against Drunk Driving – M.A.D.D. You should check them out. Seat belts have reduced many of the fatalities. Hopefully, one day, someone will come up with a foolproof way to prevent idiots from talking on the telephone or sending and receiving text messages while driving – probably many more lives could be saved. I agree that the number of fatalities associated with automobile accidents is truly appalling. However, the focal point of effective campaigns needs to be eliminating dimwits behind the wheel.
Guy, Thank you for remembering the heroes and victims of the cowardly attacks of 9-11, carried out by Islamic terrorists and al Queda. You are a true patriot.
a prayer for the lives lost on that day and for their families and a prayer for everyone who remembered and a prayer that we never forgetthanks Guy, you touched my heart.

Poor analogy. Very poor.
People who die in car accidents are NOT trying to kill other people. That is why they are called accidents.
And, the cars are not TRYING to kill people. It is the people who make dumb mistakes and have an accident.
VERY poor analogy.
