Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for August 30, 2013
Transcript:
Phoebe: For now, these school supplies are perfect. But in a week, they're gonna be boring and ordinary. And by the end of the year, they'll be all dirty and used up and gross. Why can't anything stay awesome? Mom: Let's go home and you can play video games with your unicorn some more. Phoebe: Okay, there's that.

“… And then, if I let the time pass, they will be amazing again.”
But Phoebe doesn’t know that yet ;)

That’s just the way things are. Whats new is old whats in goes out. Only some times do you find that one thing that never looses its coolness even after time.

If a unicorn finds something wonderful, it stays wonderful; it makes sense that this would be a necessary part of the mindset of a creature who lives forever.

Yeah, Nintendo will always be awesome.

I would think riding the unicorn would be more awesome than Nintendo, but as an equestrian, my opinion is biased. As this is a holiday weekend, I will be spending it camping with my horse.

I myself often lament the all-too-short shelf life of awesomeness of so much, although every once in a great while, it springs up anew, usually when you’re not expecting it.

The Moody Blues, the Corrs, and the Historyteachers are still awesome. Beethoven, Wagner, and Emmerich Kálmán are still awesome. J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, and Eleanor Cameron are still awesome. Even “Bunheads” is still awesome, despite the actions of the stinky goo-heads who run ABC Family. And “Heavenly Nostrils” is pretty dam’ awesome, too.
