Hey N.G, at the very least, a LOT of us follow you on GoComics. Your comments are always thought-provoking … even the ones I disagree with.

It’s not as attractive a concept if you have to actually go to the guy’s table, see his face, and smell his breath.

For young people whose view of themselves is just forming the obsessive, thoughtless scattering or parading of their in- most feelings or most trivial thoughts to public scrutiny, comment, criticism, and ridicule is very dangerous, as has been shown over and over.

The internet is much more than just Facebook. I use the internet constantly at work to research statutes, search out how another community is solving a problem similar to ours, keep up to date on dangerous weather conditions heading our way and look up terms I don’t know. I have never been on Facebook and see no need to share my private life with a bunch of strangers who may or may not be trustworthy.

Indeed, Facebook can be a blessing or curse, or eh. I just (mainly) accept relatives and in-laws, so have only twenty “friends.” Have become acquainted with some terrific children and grandchildren of my aunts and uncles on Mom’s side. When I shared photos and memories of her on Mother’s Day, I got an outpouring of comments from people who remembered what a great person she was. If I don’t want God and everyone to know about something, I don’t share it.

It is amusing to see people making derogatory comments about the exhibitionist nature of bulletin boards on the web – on a bulletin board on the web.
I believe this is irony at its best.
