I am rather confused and disconcerted about the story at the moment. Any clarification would be helpful. To me, it seems that Guido is at Slim and Clovia’s apartment, and THEIR DAUGHTER calls it a DUMP, which is seemingly very out of character for her. She did not strike me as rude. Is this some sort of weird story plot element where this daughter either is not who she says she is, or is somewhat nefarious? Additionally, from the look of the daughter, who seems reasonably young and Guido who seems rather old, this sort of relationship, which seems a bit creepy and beyond even a typical kind of May-December sort of thing also gives me pause about the real motives of the daughter as well. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++In some ways, if I am reading the last couple of days correctly, this strip is seeming to take a darker, more mysterious turn. I could easily be wrong, and it does seem an odd turn to me, but I would like to hear other people’s take on this.
PipeTobacco: You’re absolutely right. Nothing in this story makes any sense. I don’t even know why I’m bothering to read it..Most of my time is spent on Dick Tracy, and the threads you point out are the kinds of stuff I would expect from that strip, not this one..But I do still like GA on Sunday. So, I guess, the rest of the week, that makes me a “sucker,” too!
Does anyone realize this senseless reign of dog-slobber, pointless puns and dead-ends has run-on since July 11 of this year?? I’m a patient man, and gawdbless Jim, a fellow bluegrasser, but this Used Hay is getting old, very slowly,Ver-r-r-r-r-y slowly.

Slim hasn’t been reading the subtitles on the panels, apparently. :)

Is this scene taking place in that police station from yesterday’s third panel? In the dark with an interrogation lamp pointed at them, maybe?

Slim isn’t trusting of Guido. I think that is the point of today’s strip. Now let’s get on with the story.
