Aww. (I’m the youngest of only a brother. But when the five stepsisters are included, I’m the third from the youngest.)

Daddies and their daughters. Ain’t it grand?

My dad passed away 4 years ago, and even up to the last I addressed him as Daddy. Okay, wrong thing to write. Now I’m getting misty-eyed.

I’m the oldest of four boys. I was the one who was always trying to ditch the younger siblings.

That said, I’ve often heard that there really IS something special about a hug from a daughter, even when she’s fully grown and has children of her own.

Nothing better than a hug from a daughter! It makes the whole world seem right.

I’ve lost both a daddy and a very kind step-daddy. Even though I was the oldest, this brings back good memories for me.

Well John, there are days I want to bop you upside the head but today is not one of them. This was very sweet to see and reminded me of my dad, when I was Liz’s age I would run to greet him when he came home from work and that was a special time for both of us.

Many of us Southerners call our fathers “Daddy” all his life. Doesn’t necessarily mean we’re unusually attached. We just do. (Remember “Big Daddy” from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof?

The only thing better than a hug from your daughter is one from the grand daughter you raised. Believe me, sons and grandsons are grossly overrated.
