Mrs. Olsen: Here's what I need for tomorrow: Frazz: Need? Most people truly need only food, water clothing, and shelter. And according to some people love. and/or coffee. Caulfield: Well, apparently now a 100-word essay is on the list.
Technically, clothes and shelter are only needed where/when the weather requires you to have them. . (Sorry but Frazz was getting too… let’s say technical. )
A waiter brought me three lemon wedges for my ice tea (I typically use one per glass); then as he was clearing the entree plate asked “Do you need the lemon?” Verbal reply: “No, but I’d like to keep them” Mental reply: “I need vitamin C, which the orange juice I had for breakfast probably sufficiently supplied. I am, however, able to live a more active life after drinking tea, and I like the flavor of lemon in my tea.”

To Frazz’s list I would add kitties and cocoa.

100 words is approximately a paragraph or two. Is Mrs. Olson just trying to counter Twitter?

For me, it’s love and coffee. (Seriously, who would pick coffee over love?)

100 words isn’t an essay. It’s the sort of casual thought you can blurt out in less than 45 seconds. This posting alone is 25 words.

This strip alone is over a third of the way there.
