I remember a bit of high school French, and now that we have a pastor who speaks German (which was my first language) that is coming back. I also speak fairly fluent Cherokee.

Why do the drawings in the last two days look so different, so much more rudimentary?

I had French in HS and Latin in college but I’m self taught in Spanish and read and write it better than my Cuban X-husband did. I understand just enough French, Italian, Portuguese to watch films without subtitles (or with Spanish subtitles).

Enough German to ask questions but not to understand the answers. Same somewhat true with Swedish. A few phrases of French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, and Chinese. A good bit of Church Latin (having sung much of it after growing up with English translations). Fluent in Pig Latin and Turkey Irish.

When Cheyenne Little Theatre Players did “Amahl and the Night Visitors”, I (playing a Shepherd) was tagged to finger-sync a flute duet with Amahl(the real players were in the pit). I refer to our performance as “Amahli Vanahli”.

The other language I know isn’t spoken. I have a degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. I know ASL & PSE. I do make up my own words sometimes…..does that count?
