Funny thing, most of the other countries with said healthcare are looking for ways to get rid of it, because it’s bankrupting them. So tell me again why you’re in such rush to get IN to something everybody else is trying to get OUT of?
@Phatts CaliforniaYou’re sadly misinformed. There is no worldwide movement whatsoever to move away from single-payer systems. There is a worldwide need to deal with the cost of healthcare, but everybody—literally everybody—is doing a better job of it than we are.
Most of the American public remains more or less completely ignorant of what’s going on with healthcare reform. That’s partly due to the general fact that most of the American public is ignorant about pretty much everything, partly due to determined misinformation campaigns by the opponents of healthcare reform, and partly due to lack of sufficient effort to overcome those noisy blasts of nonsense.
The fact that the author of this strip is making a joke about pre-existing conditions when pre-existing conditions are history is a really interesting case in point.
On the contrary, the wealthy are paying a much higher tax rate to support those who don’t pay taxes at all. The services the wealthy are paying for in their yearly or quarterly forced donations, they will never use. Those that don’t pay into the system gain the benefits of the services they don’t pay for. Duh.
[Insurance Adjuster:]“So your house burned down? Did you know it was flammable?”“yes”“Sorry, that makes it a pre-existing condition — we cant pay out fire insurance on that.”

If a salon product made your hair fall out, then it’s a pre-existing conditioner.

Sadly, under the Republican plan, life is considered a pre-existing condition.

Looks like the policy here only pays off if you get tackled by a giant pink elephant as well. That doesn’t sound right!

Corporatism is the ultimate slavery. They get everything and we still have to take care of ourselves.
