Why not go to Rugby uniforms, no helmets, no padding, yet they have far fewer injuries than American football

Perhaps, but the liver problems old ruggers have don’t come from the matches themselves…it’s AFTER the matches. Anheuser Busch is missing a great sponsorship possibility.

The injuries sustained on the pitch in my football ( soccer ) playing days were nothing, in comparison to what was done to me ,in Dublin, Ireland,in the Clubhouse , that we shared with the rugby team. In those days, I considered myself a pretty good man with a pin, until I got around those crazies, who played kill the guy with the ball… aka… rugby.

I have long been an advocate of helmets that do not isolate the player from the impact that they deliver as well as “modern” shoulder pads with which you could blast into a wall and feel minimal effect. I will also reiterate that if I hear another time that today’s athletes are bigger, stronger and faster without (in the same breath) the mention of HGH I will scream!
