i've put together some comps for your house, joe, and came up with a realistic sale price... uh...that's less than what I bought it for! you said the market was up now, helga it is! that's more than what it could've sold for a year ago, so your loss is now a profit! ok...you realize that makes absolutely no sense, right? just accept the real estate perspective as an alternate universe..it'll keep your head from exploding helga mishap realty

Is it okay to say salesman if youâre Linux?

If you canât get your sale price you could try a raffle.
Hardthought over 11 years ago
On trying a raffle.
Two country boys decided to raffle off a mule. The mule was worth $200 and they sold 1000 tickets at $2 per.Problem was the mule died. When the winner went to collect his mule, the two men gladly refunded his ticket price.

Bought a house in the 70s. Soon got a tax assessment for three times what we were paying for it. Needless to say, thecounty wouldnât buy it for their own assessed valuation. When we did sell, were lucky to get OUR purchase priceâŠ.

And sheâll still want her 7% feeâŠ. Somewhat like the financial planner who gets their fees; even when your stocks go downâŠ. Great work if you cab get itâŠ.

I just check the online estimated value of my house yesterday and I went from being upside down by 43% a year ago and now right side up by 5%. Who knew.

The office just switched investment companies for our 401-K and the agent was straight forward enough to point out that a 25% ârecoveryâ will not restore a 25% loss.
I already was aware of that, but some may not have been. It actually requires a 33 1/3/% increase to bring you back to where you started.

One of the few places that wasnât hit by the housing bubble was my old home town of Pgh, PA. No one was artificially inflating home values there, because the market was slow to begin with. So properties are not under water there now.

Whenever you sell, buy, or build a house there are innumerable occupations ready to feed during the transactions.

A Realtor agency has a sign out: âWe are hiringâ. What they donât say is âCommission Onlyâ. One can starve with that compensation package.
westny77 over 11 years ago
Lady you will definitely not be my real estate agent.
Caddy57 over 11 years ago
All I can say is : I would never sell through a realty agent because they will tell you things just to get you to put more money out to âfixâ a perfectly good house only to sell it to someone else who will re-do everything you have done, and on top of the fees you pay tax on capital gains for selling above your purchase price.
mistercatworks over 11 years ago
The problem with commission-based real estate agents is that long-term customer satisfaction actually reduces the agentsâ income. More money is made if dissatisfied owners buy ANOTHER HOUSE as soon as possible. Does it really take 10 times the effort to sell a $1,000,000 house as a $100,000 one?
