Pig: Whatcha readin', Goat? Goat: This editorial on the use of military force. The government is having this big debate about whether to put boots on the ground. Pig: Doesn't seem that controversial.
Boots on the ground is fine with meā¦.As long as theyāre over here, on our groundā¦.Thereās a lot of ground we donāt need to be grindināā¦..
Okay, Pig: āfess up! Are those boots real leather? (The PETA terrorists want to know.) Where the deuce did they come from all of a sudden? (I want to know). Can we blame this sudden materialization for the sake of a weak joke on Cartoon-Boy? (Nobody wants to know, but I thought Iād ask anyway.)
@S37M ā Iām with you. Saying āputting boots on the groundā takes the personal side out of the equation. Makes it sound like itās just an expendable resource, like so much toilet paper.
THOSE ARE PEOPLE! They are someonāes sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers or fathers. They need to be treated with all due respectā¦ not just counted as another tooth on the cogs of a war machine.
At the gas station, I saw someone had a Marine Vet hat on his dash. I took the time to go over and say I saw his hat and thanks for his service. I think I made his day.

Oh, goody. No PETA people pestering Pig for some animal-cruelty-sounding misunderstandings.
