Pig: Whatcha readin', Goat? Goat: This editorial on the use of military force. The government is having this big debate about whether to put boots on the ground. Pig: Doesn't seem that controversial.
Okay, Pig: ‘fess up! Are those boots real leather? (The PETA terrorists want to know.) Where the deuce did they come from all of a sudden? (I want to know). Can we blame this sudden materialization for the sake of a weak joke on Cartoon-Boy? (Nobody wants to know, but I thought I’d ask anyway.)
@S37M – I’m with you. Saying “putting boots on the ground” takes the personal side out of the equation. Makes it sound like it’s just an expendable resource, like so much toilet paper.
THOSE ARE PEOPLE! They are someon’es sons, daughters, husbands, wives, mothers or fathers. They need to be treated with all due respect… not just counted as another tooth on the cogs of a war machine.
At the gas station, I saw someone had a Marine Vet hat on his dash. I took the time to go over and say I saw his hat and thanks for his service. I think I made his day.

Oh, goody. No PETA people pestering Pig for some animal-cruelty-sounding misunderstandings.

Boots on the ground is fine with me….As long as they’re over here, on our ground….There’s a lot of ground we don’t need to be grindin’…..

Must be nice to be in a comic strip and be able to come up with any object you need immediately.

Good one – but it’s “naugas.” That’s ok – I thought it was “hide.”

If everyone had Pig’s approach to war, there wouldn’t be any.
