Liquid nitrogen cryosurgery is now the preferred treatment. One shot and you are done. Change doctors if yours doesn’t offer it as their primary treatment method. Bleach or replace your socks, shoes, bathroom floors, and bathtub.
George Brett looked like he wouldn’t be able to play in the Kansas City/St Louis World Series because of Hemorrhoids as was told to the world by the sports press. A guy at work called in with doctor ordered bed rest for a week. The cute high school graduate secretary in the St. Louis office asked what was wrong, so he said “George Brett Syndrome”. At the morning staff meeting, she made the announcement and asked everyone what that was. Nobody could answer because they were all laughing, choking, and curled up on the floor.
I’m dealing with a plantar wart now, using Dr. Scholl’s plantar wart remover. Slow, but so far seems to be doing the trick. I’m pretty sure I picked up the virus at the local swimming pool.
Duck tape! Cheap and effective. The immediate effect is to provide some cushioning so the warts aren’t as uncomfortable. It’s a slow cure, though. http://pediatrics.about.com/od/wartsandchildren/a/warts_duct_tape.htm

Plantar warts are worse than uncomfortable. Having them burned off wasn’t any more painful than walking on them.

Good thing you’re addressing it now before you progress from Thing to Tree Man.
