ā€¦. Maybe one of Troutā€™s many uncles is a responsible type?ā€¦..Ok. Maybe not that considering its Troutā€™s momā€¦..maybe the nice paramedic guy knows someone more mature than the Beaver?(YES! i know thatā€™s not how heā€™s called. But it is the age he acts)

A good question. There are so few adults seen (or even unseen) in the strip. Heaven help us if Agnes ends up with the aunt in Pomeroy.

I donā€™t like the serious turn this strip has taken. And why am I feeling genuine concern for a comic strip character?

Iā€™m a little concern on the turn of events this comic strip is getting into.

I agree with others that this ā€œcomicā€ is getting a bit serious. But yes, call the church. Agnes must have friends in Sunday School, and their moms would be willing to step in. (At least, thatā€™s how it is at our church.)

I think itā€™s ok for a comic to turn serious once in a while as long as thereā€™s a happy ending. Iā€™m hoping for a happy ending very much right now.

Blondie would feed her. Dagwood would teach Agnes how to make proper sandwiches.

They could call her Principal. Heā€™s spent enough time with her.

It would serve the Principal right! But I wouldnā€™t wish it on Agnes! Iā€™ve always disliked Agnesā€™ principal and teachers, they just donā€™t recognize her genius! I , too, would think some church folks would help out.

It is very easy to feel concern for a comic-strip character. One of the first lessons in writing is that fictional people are often more real than the fictional variety.Their small lives are ā€˜livedā€™ more intently and passionately than our real onesā€¦

As serious as the subject is, Iā€™ still laughed at Trout and Agnesā€™ response to the question. Gives me hope that things will turn out all right in the end since the author is letting them give a silly answer.
