WTF? Don’t get the connection between muffins, bells, Angels and the kid in the cap. In Oz language, this one went through to the keeper. i.e. didn’t get a bat on it (cricket term meaning totally missed it).
If Roy has eaten an entire package of muffins, his tummy’s gonna hurt tonight. On the other hand, at least six angels have gotten their wings via Roy’s hunger. WTG, Roy!
They don’t necessarily have to hear it in Heaven. How loud could the ornament on George Bailey’s tree have been? Yet we’re made to believe that Clarence got his wings. Or maybe the angels have sharp hearing.
The bell is just the ‘ding’ on the toaster oven. Roy has not set the house on fire. Seems unlikely he would keep putting in more muffins if he had. Although, with his appetite…
Death is only sorrowful for those who die before their time. I have seen very few in my life (only in family of friends). The only member of my family who died before her time was Cuddles (at 23-27); she should have lived at least twice that age. A friend of mine lost both his son and a son-in-law; I was sad about his father, who I had only begun to appreciate.
I agree that it is not too bad, if you can believe in some kind of afterlife (I’m not sure there is one, but I hope to be with those who I loved). just NOT for another 20+ healthy years
I have my own theories about angels which have nothing to do with this depiction, or the IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE notion. I don’t go along with the idea of feathered, bird like wings sprouting out of a body that’s not a bird. By the same token, I always felt that if mermaids were real, they would not have fish tails, with scales. More likely they would be similar to a dolphin’s tail.

When the toaster oven finishes its cycle, a bell rings.

I don’t remember anything in the Bible about angels having wings. They might not need them.
There are supposed to be animals in Heaven, although it hasn’t been determined if animals here go to Heaven. I hope they do.
