Another mystifying BC strip. Lots of us are prepared to throw darts at politicians of either party, without being either OWS or TP. And why does he need a new dart board? Has he filled the old one with holes? And I hope a stone dart board is going to work for him.
Ashburn, ease up on the Kook-aid; you clearly do not know the difference between a libertarian and a national socialist. Nabuq has a pretty astute and lucid analysis above.
I yearn for the days of the late Johnny Hart’s comics. He would poke fun at the human condition without whacking us with polemics. If only Mr. Hart’s successors had his wisdom…
In the 60’s, the ultra liberals were the anarchists,; the ultra conservatives the fascists. Now the ultra liberals are the fascists and the ultra conservatives are the anarchists.
Never mix sex, politics and religion. Therefore stay away from ACC Basketball: it’s as good as sex, as controversial as politics and people believe in it.
Like most of the commenters here, I don’t see the humor in this particular strip. While the Occupiers or Tea Partiers are easily distinguishable, there is truth underlying the strip. The fact is, the US population has become diverse enough that we are increasingly ungovernable. That means that our diverse expectations are unsustainable and will devolve into civil war or revolution, will result in an attack on the US by another country, or will be repressed by militant tyranny. The oil and water in the great melting pot has started to separate.
a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government
: very harsh control or authority: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
Of course, just because one believes that their version of national socialism is the only way forward for the nation and feel that the TEA Party must be silenced doesn’t mean that they are fascists. No, not at all.And again, if you don’t get the joke…If you are playing poker and can’t spot the mark…
If Johnny doesn’t think there’s much difference between Occupy and the Tea Party he’s either a left wing lunatic or he’s a big fan of MSNBC. I’m used to the soft bias in the entertainment industry and the media but this is over the top.
Really? Who was the group of hooligans that followed OW around with the sole purpose of vandalizing and trashing personal property around the store-fronts and in the parks where OW set their camps.
Why was it that some cities had to close the city parks to get the OW campers to move and had to further keep non-participating citizens out till they were cleaned and the lawns repaired? Do I have locations and dates available as I type this? NO, and that’s not relevant at this moment. You remember what you want and apparently have ignored that which is not important to your arguments. Although I don’t have a TV nor follow the news, I do have memory of having seen several reports of such activity… because I found it worth mentioning to those that avoided its inconvenience.
I’m not claiming you’re wrong or I’m right… I’m merely pointing out that in one situation, we can comment from two different perspectives of the same situation to make our point, avoiding those areas not in our debating favor.
While I don’t always agree with your viewpoints, I do find your discussions thought provoking.

If Joe Biden gets elected and there’s a doll of him, that’s what I’ll be doing. Throwing darts. About 1,000 of them.

I guess it is difficult for some people to get the point, though some others, perhaps of wildly disparate philosophies, would gladly assist them.

It would appear that the ones calling the ultra conservatives of the 60’s “Fascists” were not very educated…
