I had just registered my car in Dec before I scanned the cartoons for Jan/Feb and saw this one. Between my car registration and smog I was like “Wow”! Some things never change!
I’ve got that flash-forward feeling again, in which a comic that goes back many years refers to a troubled economy. Of course, troubled economies are nothing new, but it always seems a little weird when you realize that back then they were saying so many of the same things that you hear constantly today.

License plates must have cost a lot of money back then. But I guess economies never change.
