I assume you’re not from the US; these are common themes here. Groundhog Day is February 2 and is a silly but fun tradition. EachFebruary 2, the groundhog comes out of it den (the most famous groundhog resides in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and is named Punxsutawney Phil). If it sees its shadow, there will be 6 more weeks of winter. That’s it. No idea where the tradition came from, but in Punxsutawney, they’ve made quite a festival out of it. Presidents Day is a relatively new holiday celebrating past presidents. It once was two separate holidays celebrating Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays (both in February), but somewhere in the 80s it was changed to include all past presidents. Presidents Day has virtually no meaning to anyone other than it is a manditory Monday day off for federal workers, and it is another excuse for stores to have a sale. Hope the context helps.
This is how bad things always start. First it’s the mattress sale flyers, Then it’s the Target flyers. Next thing you know, the Fleet Farm flyers are gone too! Nip this in the bud, Brewster!

Stealing Punxsutawney Phil is one thing. But if you try messing with Macy’s, you’re asking for trouble.
