Miss Bliss: Let's see what Alice has painted! Alice: I call this "No More Stupid Naps." Alice: I'm exploring issues of dominance, ageism, and uncheck adult super visor fascism through post expressionistic imagery of power, innocence and repression. Miss Bliss: It's very pretty, Alice! Thank you for brightening our classroom with your art! Alice: I think it flew right over her head. Dill: So did my performance piece "No More Stupid Baby Carrots", especially the part where I pretended to regurgitate the orange crayon.

Performance art just doesn’t go over at Nursery school!

Alice has the “artist’s statement” spiel down perfectly, right to the letter. And her painting is good, too! She ought to be hired as a “child genius art critic” by some major metropolitan newspaper, such as that fat pompous one in New York City that tries to squeeze everything in.Dill’s performance piece, however, seems rather run-of-the-mill….

Alice could do an interpretive dance piece. But Miss Bliss will just think it’s cute.

Miss Bliss has enough experience with kids to a) know she understands what Alice is saying, and b) act as if she doesn’t.

When Alice gets to be my age (60), she’ll appreciate the value of a good nap.

You don’t have to be a great artist if you’ve got your rap down cold.
