Funny, Today’s Gospel had Jesus speaking on that subject. Something like ’any man that divorces his wife,other than for reasons of infidelity, is committing adultery ’

This happened to a friend of mine. We all watched his wife do a very slow, painful fade to black. Well, not for her: She had pretty much no idea what was happening to her. But for my friend and his children (all of whom are about my age) it was unmitigated hell. He told me a fwe years ago that when his wife contracted an infection of some kind, he told the nursing home staff to do whatever was needed to get rid of the infection. Took quite some time, after which he told me that if such were ever to happen to her again, he’d have to let her go and prepare to meet her on the other side rather than put her through that torture again. She went rather peacefully about a year ago. It was, of course, quite painful for my friend and his kids.

Touche’ Mary and Jesus! Way to nail him! All churches these days care about is money.

I rather believe like the person who said, “Spirituality is a relationship with the Creator, religion is just crowd control!” It also seems to me that what some take as divine inspiration is nothing more than dementia and passing gas!
