Wally’s excited, but he’s invited to pay more attention right nowIt would be best to note that she’s depressed. She needs some support here, and how!But we can see that, just as with Doc Rat, the fellow’s not tracking her moodShe’s troubled, he’s happy, and things can turn crappy if her problem isn’t pursued=|====/ Level HeadVote for Endtown 2.0And for Doc Rat, tooThe Endtown ForumThe Endtown AuctionThe Endtown Books

I’ve been dying to get on at the right time to share this for a few months now…if you look up “Les Friction,” that entire album is practically Endtown. “What You Need” is very much Holly and Wally’s theme.

Please don’t make her a truck trapped in a mouse’s body. It’s Thursday, there probably will be a huge bombshell tomorrow. Just what is that mouse thinking? She’s been through a lot, and I thought she was one of the better adjusted. While I’m still in a reflective mode, there are so many I would like to recognise, but if I listed all the people who have meant so much to this strip, at least the comment section, I could be here all day and overlook several who were so very important. That said, I would like to recognise the contributions of Three Steps Over Japan, for being sort of a gatekeeper and welcoming committee. TSOJ has helped fill in blanks, sometimes with, … special answers. He has also helped SurfStuff55 and many others, including me, learn some basic coding methods, and over at his blog lists several code commands. So thanks to TSOJ for that and other things including his CAT project. And thanks to everyone who was able to help with that project. Also thanks to SurfStuff55 for all she has done, including starting the project for helping with Aaron’s medicine expenses, and to Selina Eubanks who was able to take over when Surfi got overloaded, and everyone who was able to donate to help out with Aaron’s medical expenses. Selina continues to help by frequently doing the greytones for the strip.I will look into that Patreon project to see if we can get Aaron a reasonably secure source of income, in a way that takes everything into consideration to optimise Aaron’s benefit. I wish I had been able to do more, but I think cheerleader may be my best use at the time. Who knows what tomorrow brings, someone from my past may have an extremely highly paying position for me that uses my skills, and makes allowancess for all my medical challenges. But I do enjoy the cheerleading here, and I know I am trying to do good things, and even if I just accomplish a little, it would be more than if I had just read the strip and moved on.Everyone can help further Endtown along, whether it is buying books, picking up Endtown swag at Cafe Press, promoting Endtown to friends and co-workers and family, Buying Prints or Donating or contacting Aaron to purchase books 3 and 4. Amazon is sold out of the regular run of Endtown book 1, but still has book 2, and someone is offering a book 1 for $40. So you can buy more than one book from Aaron, and hold it for an investment. Contact Aaron for Books or Prints at:

And special thanks to everyone who makes it through my sometimes/often rambling discourses. Thank you All.Now go vote! .

More proof that you’re an anthro. You can never go back. But, in every anthro, there’s that little bit of Allgood hiding in the shadows.

Assuming Doctor Chase is sensible, he’s been letting his patients use their own fast healing powers and then taking the credit. I would. ; )

The healing factor may also make it harder for female anthros to carry a child to term.

The thought must weigh on Holly’s mind, unless she is disintegrated, or took a bullet somewhere vital. She is effectively immortal (to a point). Clearly she is on a tear of self mutilation, Unfortunately, her early history is a part I missed, given the thought that as a former Topsider herself she may have played a hand in the “bleaching” process. Her PTSD is pretty severe and needs to be addressed. The problem is that once you’ve witnessed or taken part in something so horrible that your psyche cannot properly process it. Holly has only known a short period of brief happiness in a life of unending atrocities. It is nearly impossible to “un-see” what one has seen. It can haunt our waking moments for the rest of their lives. She has a son, and does not even know his fate, the guilt she felt for “abandoning him” and all she has experienced has left her mind bruised and numb. The “trial” just exacerbated her ongoing psychosis. How would any of us react to experiencing her reality is unknown. It varies from individual to individual. How would any of us handle the horror of war, abandoning ones family and home as well as a transformation as radical as a species change. Myself, I would be freaked out a bit, but at least grateful that I am still a chordate. My experience with science might allow me to cope better because logic has always been my religion, even though such an experience may defy logic. In this story arc the Humans are the true monsters (much like they have throughout history,) The Anthros have merely changed physically, not mentally, those same “human instincts” are still there and perfectly capable of visiting the same albeit cute fuzzy insanity upon each other as we witnessed in Endtown’s Jackrabbit fueled revolution.I hope she is not beyond help, for selfish reasons I admit. I like cats and would hate to see Wally lose her. But then this story would be boring if she was happy and “normal.”

The anthros aren’t aware of how fast they heal because the virus altered their brains along the rest of the body. Their percpetions would be subtly distorted and in some cases, enhanced.

Holly’s sad because she lost the argument to a talking truck..@Level_Head – Astute observation, I hadn’t made the connection.

Okay, if the Topsiders don’t know about how anthros are made, and the Endtowners don’t know about their super speedy healing ability, I’m gunna just toss away my scorecard at this point. Because no one has done anything in 7 years, it seems.

If this is true? Then the people at Endtown that got shot and killed. May not be dead after all.

Small sign of improvement is Holly’s interest in her appearance. She made sure her apron was tied neatly in place.

I’m curious about Sarah’s words on the third panel. “Its strange we have yet to meet any anthros who are already aware of their accelerated healing abilities”(caps are for words that were bold on the strip)This suggests that this is not the first time that Jim and Sarah have had this conversation. Were they involved in the traditional cleansing and head hunting activities at this time? If this was after they abandoned the domes, did the other mutants just walk away? Did Jim and Sarah have other traveling companions who were killed? Were they offended by Jim’s comment about being, “…cute fuzzy little dwarves.”? Enquiring minds want to know!!!

Why do I have the feeling that Holly is seriously considering asking for the brain bleaching?

well the normal treatment for healing a broken limb is to immobilize it in a cast for 6-8 weeks, few people would question the treatment and just keep the cast on even if it stopped hurting, for fear of exaggerating the injury. Holly only noticed now because all she had was an improvised sling. What is really surprising is that these topsiders don’t know how to become anthros, I’m guessing they never bothered to actually interview any before converting them into mutts, transporters, or just dusting them…

It’s good to see Level Head’s poetry in the Endtown comments section. Welcome back O Endtown bard, your comments were missed. Clive the transporter has that attitude that can be summed up in these words: Que sera, sera. It seems that though the memory is wiped clean from the brain, there are personality traits that come through, so I can suppose that the Topsiders’ mind wipe is only so effective.

it’s worth remembering that Holly recently had a miscarriage, in part due to the abuse she suffered at the hands of the rats. Given the fast healing thing, she’s got to be wondering why that happened.
